Adeline’s mum, Auntie Audrey, called a few weeks before Adeline’s 21st birthday after being introduced by Auntie Nancy. Thanks for the intro auntie. So there I was, shooting my 1st birthday event in KL sometime late last year.  For those of you who have been following my site, Yes, I’m very very behind time in updating my post though the clients have already receive their photo sets like centuries ago. I beg your forgiveness…

Okay, so Adeline’s birthday celebration was held at Alexis Bistro, Bangsar. Alexis Bistro is one fine venue to organize a private event such as this. It was held on the 1st floor where they have this long and comfy lounge for guests to chill and chat the evening through. The theme masterminded by our birthday girl was ‘Moulin Rouge’. Every details and corners of the lounge were decorated specifically in living out the Moulin Rouge. Very ‘cantiklah I tell you!! Well, before she left to further her studies overseas, Adeline and her family sure knows how to have a good time!

So friends, cousins, uncles & aunties arrived gracefully in their Red and Black evening wear.. That was the theme of our evening! As for me, I wore black. Don’t want to overshadow our birthday girl, kay. As for our birthday girl, she wore something a bit different.. A gorgeous purple evening dress.

A great time for food, expensive champagne (which we wasted for Adeline’s toast), games and tons and tons of photo taking. I had lots of fun shooting these young people coz they love the camera too much. To Auntie Audrey, thanks for having me capture the beautiful people that evening and its an honor to know you and the family. To Adeline, I bet you’ve started class already by now but anyway, I wish you the best in your studies and may the Lord continue to guide you and keep you in your daily walk. Hi folks.. its been weeks since my last posting due to my extreme destination wedding shoots. Now that my wedding assignments gracefully settle, I finally got a little time to load some past shots to fill the blog silence. Not that I don’t like blogging kay.. In fact, I miss it very much & I believe many of you have been eager to see what I have been up to for the past weeks..

So, while in Miri a couple of months back, I was contacted by my cousin, Nazerine, to shoot their family portraits before I fly back to KL. This time, the session was held at Miri Public Park (Taman Awam Miri) assisted by, again, Mr Philip. If you happen to be down in Miri, come visit the Miri Public Park yah coz we have some interesting angles to shoot there. So.. here goes..

As I log of for the Chinese New Year holidays, Jenn & I would like to wish all family & friends a joyous Gong Xi Fa Chai! May this new year brings you great health, loads of love & immense prosperity.. We’ll be in Kota Kinabalu this year for CNY from 11th to 16th Feb to shoot some more family portraits back home. While on a holiday trip to Kota Kinabalu sometime early last year I finally met this bubbly couple, Rendy & Ivy. All the while, we spent countless hours on the net.. ‘Facebook-ing’ & ‘Messenger-ing’ lah! I like the energy flowed through this couple. They’re hype, loud (that’ll be Ivy!), very open to my style of shoot and very much in love with each other…

So the day arrive when I flew all the way to the Land Below The Wind to shoot their Pre-Wedding and Philip, a good friend since my primary school days, arrive a day before our schedule shoot also from KL. I was of course very excited coz personaly, I simply love the scenes in Kota Kinabalu. So many places to shoot at and I can just run wild.. well literally coz my models & assistant were awesome! So here you go folks, combining both Nikon’s Creative Lighting System (CLS) technology & the old time favourite ‘use the reflector’ technique, I give you Rendy & Ivy!!

After a quick buffet lunch at the coffee house, we went of with a couple more shots then left for make-up before we head for the final location.

Happy New year folks! These past 3 months have been very very very very… hectic with shoots. I’d like to thank everyone especially the couples, individuals & families that has put your trust in my artwork all this while. Your support and confidence in Anderson’s Picturific means a lot. A month back, for those of you who followed me on twitter or facebook, you’ll know I was in Putrajaya shooting for a pre-wedding session. Iyup! It was Pendy & Christie’s session this time… How I met this couple? Well.. while I was based in Miri earlier this year, they came to check on my portfolio and after a few weeks, we confirmed a package. Simple right?!

Since all of us are based in KL now, we arranged for a session in Putrajaya over one weekend just 2 weeks before their wedding. I’ve to thank my two assistance that day, Chrismoreo & Galvin for their hard work carrying my EQ’s and flash. Teh tarik on me kay guys! hahahaha…

So before you all get to view their wedding set (which will be up soon), here are some of their selections from the day.. Oh yah! I forgot to mention, towards the end of the session, we had an ‘interesting run’…. chasing after policemen! (Nvm.. only we know that part of the story)

Towards the end of the Hari Raya month, PERNIM – Persatuan Kebajikan Anak Pesakit HIV/AIDS Nurul Iman – Kpg Cheras Baru, organized a Hari Raya Open House jointly  supported by individuals, hotels & students from local higher learning institutions. The function was spearheaded by Puan Hjh Norlina Alawi, the founder herself alongside a few kind hearted individuals to celebrate the ‘gift of children’ in conjunction of the joyous Hari Raya month. Puan Hjh Norlina Alawi, founder of the home for orphans, abandoned and children with HIV, together with her 60 over children, were surrounded by royalties, the media, celebrities, friends from all around including children from other shelter homes on the day itself. Lead by Tengku Johari, the Harley Davidson – Malaysia Chapter also arrived to share their love towards all the children.

I thank Wawa & Jimmy, two of the individuals responsible for organizing this event in inviting me to photograph the function. Everyone especially the kids, really enjoyed the program flow runned by the well known, Azwan Ali (You know… “Amboi amboi amboooooi!”). Yeah.. I met him in person folks! hahahaha…Very spontaneous fella this Azwan.

Personally, it was a ‘heart moving experience’ for me to be around so many less fortunate children that day.  At one point ,when I was shooting candid portraits of the children, I came to think of how blessed most of us are where most of us grew up having mum & dad attending to our everyday matters. Then, as I looked through my viewfinder, my eyes just got heavier at the images of these children.. I kept asking myself, “What is playing in their mind?”

During my short break in Miri, Ken & Chiew Ling suggested this ‘quite a distance’ beach for their Engagement Session. Its called the Bungai Beach. You know, though I have lived in Miri for a very long time, this was my first time stepping foot at this beach. Well, second time actually. The first time we went was few weeks before the shoot-out to Riki the place. Beautiful rocks formation, huge branches for you to hang on to and a nice row of fisherman’s boats lining on the beach.  To those who love to shoot landscapes, you guys should go check out this place.  To Ken & Chiew Ling, thanks for the good time and the lovely poses. Hope you enjoyed the shots as much as I enjoyed making them. To my assistants, Jenn & Philip, thanks for the lights and carrying my stuff around.. Next trip, Kolok Mee is on me kay! Hello folks, remember my ‘Leaving on a jet plane’ note on Facebook few weeks back? Well, that was coz I left for an assignment in Miri to photograph Lee Yew Lun & Niki Yong’s wedding. Though knowing I’m not so far here in KL, I’m very thankful to Lee & Niki in believing in my work and flying me over to photograph their wedding. Based in Brunei, Lee & Niki celebrated their big day in Miri coz most of their relatives are around the area. I was introduced to Lee & Niki by their ‘wedding day chauffeur’, Ken.. whom I’ll also be shooting his wedding, pretty soon (that means, another trip to Miri again!). It was rather challenging for me to capture the chaotic ‘games session’ in the morning coz the ‘brothers’ outnumbered the ‘sisters’ and they were pretty stubborn in doing the tasks instructed… well, of course they should be! Unless they rip the door apart of course.

While preparing the props of all sorts to bully the boys, the girls were determined to collect as many Ang Pow’s as possible or at least, getting the boys on their knees for mercy… hahhaahaa.. nah.. It didn’t happen. But then again, it was all for everyone’s laughter & fun. After the whole ‘bullying’ session & tea ceremony was over, I had a ‘run around the hotel session’ with this spontaneous lovebirds, workin-out some more portraits.

To Lee & Niki, thank you for having me over! You guys were PICTURIFIC! Congratulations to the both of you again and I bet you guys had a romantic time in Krabi. Got souvenirs for me ah? hahahhaa… Anyway, I’m very much looking forward to catching up with you guys and the whole gang again soon… very soon!
